2o12, Castelnau, 3o.ooo sqm
– Advance Design Leader for Jean Paul Viguier
The project is composed by three squares
1. MONUMENTAL SQUARE. 6OX6OM which floats on a floodplain and creates an acoustic wall between the highway and the friendly space inside the plot. Adding to the size imposed by the regulations, 29m high, it is a new very unique skyline, as a clean brand of the city at the entrance to Montpellier. 2. SQUARE "HINGE" 6OX6OM He articulates the monumental and small squares. Like a hinge it pivots 45º adapting to the urban space and widening the place of Charles de Gaul. It distributes key accesses to housing and trade activities and connects with the existing city. 3. SQUARE SMALL 38X38M The successive earthworks make the volume light, welcoming a service equipment for the city. It also reduces its size to accommodate small buildings along the street of Prado. With only 5 floors, it is well integrated into the existing urban fabric. Images courtesy of Jean Paul Viguier et Associés© .
