2o15, Ancient Know-how Versus Thermal Regulation, Fontainebleu
– Energy Advisor for ABDPA
In 2014, the “Gatinais Francais” a French Reginal Natural Park near to Paris carries out an in-depth study on the rural building heritage focusing on six villages: "The future of Vernacular building of the French Natural Park Gâtinais in the hour of global warming ". The community presents a global approach encouraging local development projects that implement the economic, ecological, and architectural and heritage properties. For each village this report should propose a preparatory basis for operational missions ABDPA practice of architecture in Paris answered to the Gatinais call and undertook a deep study for the community founded on building heritage and historical and technical knowledge. This report presents a synthesis on vernacular architecture of the region and analyzes precisely four cases. As a result, some projects are undertaken, like the exemplary renovation of an old small house in the commune of Fleury destined to become a low-rent housing very efficient from the thermal point of view. As an high environment quality advisor I have collaborated with ABDPA to elaborate a technical report about the thermal possibilities of heritage constructions. We have worked together in order to implement the regulatory thermal context to take full advantage of the vernacular heritage. Images courtesy of ABPDA© .
